Ennobled it as 'world's slimmest smartphone', Gionee Elife S5.1 has made its way to reach Guinness World of Records.
"We are excited to have made it to the Guinness World Records for the world's thinnest smartphone category," said Gionee Smartphones India Head Arvind Vohra.
The device comes in a thin 5.1 mm shell comprising both glass and metal. Elife S5.1 features 4.8-inch display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on 1.7GHz octa-core processor supported by 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage.
Available in white, black, blue and pink colours, the smartphone has 8MP rear camera, LTE connectivity and 2050 mAh battery.
Gionee is also planning to launch its range of 4G LTE smartphones by mid-December in India.
The officials from the company claim that by the starting of 2015, all smartphones priced above Rs 10,000 will have LTE feature. Its S series devices namely Elife S5.1 and Elife S5.5 will also feature LTE.
While Xiaomi has recently announced to launch its Mi4 and Redmi Note smartphones, Gionee will soon launch four devices V6L LTE, Pioneer P5L LTE, P4S and P6.
Gionee V6L LTE, a double SIM phone which features a 5 inch IPS display, is powered by 1.2GHz quad core processor and 1GB RAM. V6L LTE comes with 8GB onboard storage that can be expandable upto 128Gb via microSD card slot. Priced at Rs 15,000, the device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The second in the range Gionee Pioneer P5L LTE is priced at Rs 10,000. Its specifications are similar to that of Gionee V6L LTE. The device is backed with 1800 mAh battery and also sports a 5 MP rear camera.
